Do you know how much your local government invests in the arts? Would you commit to advocating for an increase in that cultural investment for arts, culture, and heritage in your community, within the capacity of your elected body?

I wouldn't say they truly invest in it, or really understand it. No I would not support funding one artist, speech, expression, over another and that's what it goes down to. Artists starve while others get politically favorable status and sponsorship. Yet pay taxes for it.

If elected, will you take an active role on behalf of your local government in championing the growth of arts, culture and heritage in your community? Why?

I am an artist, my father, mother, and many people I have met. They take the active roll. They put in the work, and effort and do their art, entertainment and humanity. Government uses favoritism to undermine many in the trenches.

Students with an education rich in the arts have better grade point averages and are three times more likely to get a degree. Will you commit to making the arts a critical component of every child’s education? If so, how?

Not in my experience, a lot of learning disabled drop outs to see the least. Some might, but it is not a hard an fast rule. I grew up with art, my parents did a good job on this. But it also became the only world I really knew. Also a struggle and suffering I know very well. This is the domain of a parent, granted I preferred being in the High School art room than anywhere, but it wasn't as good as home. One can risk raising a kid in a cultural mind set that alienates them from their parents as well, it's not for all people, some people get a light in their eye over something, some people don't. They kind of have to figure this out on their to some extent. It's not so simple.

School choice with vouchers would be a nice thing, if someone wants their kid in a more art centred School for instance.

Cultural Growth

How will your local government maintain or grow its investment in cultural programs in your community?

Individuals will, if all goes well, keep more what they earn and be able to spend it on their ideas of art, entertainment, humanities or culture. No Government grants are tolerable. No governing of personal tastes. None of this dictatorship.

Cultural Spaces

Will you work to ensure access to affordable, sustainable cultural spaces for artists and arts organizations? If so, how?

Well their is my parking meter idea. Where charities and services could use voluntary donation parking collected by themselves to fund things like this. But it's something that would have to built and funded privately. Art can be done anywhere for the most part, granted Sculpting and few things may be an exception.

Cultural Tourism

How do you propose to improve cultural tourism in your community?

Have a little more than enough Tourism. They do have crawls, Galleries and places for people to go at their leisure as it is. If people want to, they will find it. I suggest these things find a way to promote themselves.

How do you propose to attract or retain artists and cultural workers in your community?

It's rather up to them to some extent, granted some may get costed out, but it's a vague question deserving a vague answer. Possibly some can privately co-operate. Some individual could build something for them, using some private charity or business means, especially without being hindered by Property Use and Maintenance Laws that exist today. No endless red tape for permits and all that.

Key Issues

What do you feel is the single most important issue relating to arts, culture, and heritage in your community, and what action will you take to address it?

Ensuring all citizens have the right to free speech enforced.

How do you personally engage in the cultural life of the community? (e.g. involvement on committees, attending arts and culture events, etc.)

I watch, appreciate, and make it time to time.

I want system that picks no favorite, the only egalitarian way is to keep Government out of the way, this is not a function for a mass philistine like a Government. It may seem painful, mostly to egos of pencil pushers and politicians. But I am a snob and I am not going force a tacky person to fund my idea of tasteful. Nor would I make the tasteful pay for the tacky.
