Do you know how much your local government invests in the arts? Would you commit to advocating for an increase in that cultural investment for arts, culture, and heritage in your community, within the capacity of your elected body?
Our city's yearly investment in the arts is wrapped in a larger envelope so I do not know the exact number allotted for the arts. Being an artist / craftsman myself, I am definitely committed to advocating for the arts.
If elected, will you take an active role on behalf of your local government in championing the growth of arts, culture and heritage in your community? Why?
Yes I would take an active roll in this regard. I feel that the growth, understanding and participation in the arts, culture and heritage, help to contribute to one's individual health as well as to the community's health as a whole.
Students with an education rich in the arts have better grade point averages and are three times more likely to get a degree. Will you commit to making the arts a critical component of every child’s education? If so, how?
It would like to see the City offer participation in City's arts programs to those students without the financial means.
How will your local government maintain or grow its investment in cultural programs in your community?
Bring arts and culture to the forefront, thus increasing awareness and participation, ultimately resulting in growth.
Will you work to ensure access to affordable, sustainable cultural spaces for artists and arts organizations? If so, how?
Once elected, I will advocate for creating city owned or partnered, affordable spaces for artists.
How do you propose to improve cultural tourism in your community?
By expanding Brewer's Row, creating an Arts & Entertainment district featuring artists studios, unique restaurants and a barrage of funky cool shops, so that it becomes a local destination to tourists visiting Vancouver. After all, we are just a SkyTrain ride away!
How do you propose to attract or retain artists and cultural workers in your community?
By creating an Arts & Entertainment district and offering affordable studio space.
What do you feel is the single most important issue relating to arts, culture, and heritage in your community, and what action will you take to address it?
Lack of participation due to poor promotion. Improved marketing is needed for this to change.
How do you personally engage in the cultural life of the community? (e.g. involvement on committees, attending arts and culture events, etc.)
I regularly attend the opera, symphony, local plays and also perform at local open mic nights.

I have been playing, performing music since I was in grade school and have been writing and recording in studios for over 35 years. I have also taught music to my children who also now write and record their own music. I have also been a jewelry designer and goldsmith for over 30 years focusing on one of a kind, custom designed, hand fabricated pieces. I am all about the arts.
