Do you know how much your local government invests in the arts? Would you commit to advocating for an increase in that cultural investment for arts, culture, and heritage in your community, within the capacity of your elected body?
No I do not know how much funding is designated for the arts. I definitely would do my best to advocate for a increase in the cultural aspects of arts, culture and heritage in my community.
If elected, will you take an active role on behalf of your local government in championing the growth of arts, culture and heritage in your community? Why?
Yes I will do my best to preserve cultural and arts and heritage of victoria as this is a vital link to the tourism industry and promoting indigenous inclusiveness through the many faucets of art.
Students with an education rich in the arts have better grade point averages and are three times more likely to get a degree. Will you commit to making the arts a critical component of every child’s education? If so, how?
yes I will commit to making the arts a critical component of every students education because not everyone can start school off with reading and writing as their main skill. Some students excel at art and music as their number learning tool which could lead the student to want to learn more.
How will your local government maintain or grow its investment in cultural programs in your community?
the local government can start to invest in cultural programs at the grass roots if they know the real value of these programs.
Will you work to ensure access to affordable, sustainable cultural spaces for artists and arts organizations? If so, how?
I am inclined to say yes but not as solidly as I would like. But I know once I master the right tools to learn how this works for everyone, I know I would be inclined to say yes.
How do you propose to improve cultural tourism in your community?
I have always like to promote local musicians and artists by encouraging tourist and residents to get the know the living artists and to support them by buying the artist products. As well as when I have been hosting public events I have always sought out the local artist and bought from them.
How do you propose to attract or retain artists and cultural workers in your community?
I would do my best to buy their products at their set price and encourage the business to community to utilize this community when the business is seeking out advertisers
What do you feel is the single most important issue relating to arts, culture, and heritage in your community, and what action will you take to address it?
They seem to never be given enough recognition for all they do for making our community a more inviting environment; especially when the artist is one of our own indigenous artist.
How do you personally engage in the cultural life of the community? (e.g. involvement on committees, attending arts and culture events, etc.)
My own family has artists and musicians in it. My indigenous roots are tied to the environment and artists
