Growing participation in arts and community programs is one of the privileges of being on Chilliwack city council . Programs that bring people together to celebrate living , working and playing in Chilliwack are what make this city a great place to call home.We have a great history of pioneers , artists, military and farmer groups who have been the foundation of building the community of Chilliwack. Committees are what make things happen and participating in them is how you keep people engaged and projects relevant to the community . I look forward to being on some great active committees.

Reviewing where moneys are currently being spent and growing the budget as the tax base increases are the tools the city council has. listening to the feed back from the committees is best way to allocate the moneys.

I think the Heritage park site is under utilized and has become disconnected from the original purpose of it construction. The city needs to lead the discussion of how the park is going to be utilized and implement a long term plan connected to the needs of the user groups.
How do you personally engage in the cultural life of the community? (e.g. involvement on committees, attending arts and culture events, etc.)

If you want a diverse entertaining cultural experience you need to be part of the organizing process. It is people that volunteer and pour their energy into public events that allow them to happen. There is money being spent but we need the people who are participating to be engaged to make sure the money is well spent and events are great experiences for everyone.
