Do you know how much your local government invests in the arts? Would you commit to advocating for an increase in that cultural investment for arts, culture, and heritage in your community, within the capacity of your elected body?

I will truly support and advocate for the Arts as they are important to developing a healthy community.

If elected, will you take an active role on behalf of your local government in championing the growth of arts, culture and heritage in your community? Why?

I currently support and donate to numerous Arts and cultural events throughout my community. I believe that they need funded and supported.

Students with an education rich in the arts have better grade point averages and are three times more likely to get a degree. Will you commit to making the arts a critical component of every child’s education? If so, how?

My commitment is that a Strong Public Education System needs to fully support and fund a strong Arts and Cultural Programs.

Cultural Growth

How will your local government maintain or grow its investment in cultural programs in your community?

There needs to be a strong advocate that brings community groups together. My strength is my ability to bring people and groups together to come up with creative solutions to meeting the demands on the Education System when it comes supporting cultural programs.

Cultural Spaces

Will you work to ensure access to affordable, sustainable cultural spaces for artists and arts organizations? If so, how?

I will fully support my school district to support the Arts and Culture

Cultural Tourism

How do you propose to improve cultural tourism in your community?

I would like to develop a street art show in conjunction with Downtown Prince George, Tourism Prince George, Prince George Arts Council. The concept is to use section of pavement in Lheidli T'enneh Memorial Park, lay out 8x8 sections of pavement that each artist can use. Their tools: Chalk. There are different categories and it needs to become a event with food vendors, music and activities for kids while the Art is being developed by the artist on the sidewalks.

How do you propose to attract or retain artists and cultural workers in your community?

By supporting local artist organizations

Key Issues

What do you feel is the single most important issue relating to arts, culture, and heritage in your community, and what action will you take to address it?

You always need a strong advocate on voice on any city council, Board of Trustees and other community organizations. I understand, support and I am committed to be that voice and advocate.

How do you personally engage in the cultural life of the community? (e.g. involvement on committees, attending arts and culture events, etc.)

I attend as many events that I can. My businesses donate to numerous arts councils and groups within Prince George.
