BC voters: on October 20, you went to the polls and made your voices heard.
Thank you for voting for arts, culture and heritage.
When advocating to elected officials, it’s important to take a unified approach, so that our collective voices can be heard as one. We recently surveyed our members on critical issues facing the arts, culture and heritage sector. Two needs were consistently identified:
the need for an increased investment in municipal cultural grant programs; and
the need for an increase to municipal capital spending on cultural infrastructure.
To help customize the case you make to your candidates, we've created this document which compares municipal investment in grants, infrastructure and libraries in regions around BC. Take a look to get an idea of what kind of cultural investment your municipal government is making (or, if you want to add information about your community, email Joyce Wan at firstname.lastname@example.org).
